Safeguarding Policy: LAMDA Tuition/Helen Di Tomaso Speech and Drama Limited

The purpose of this policy:

  • To protect children and young people who attend classes with LAMDA Tuition/Helen Di Tomaso (hereafter called ‘The Company’).

  • To protect adults who attend classes provided by ‘The Company’.

  • To protect Helen Di Tomaso and Associates of The Company and provide them with the principles that guide a stringent approach to safeguarding and child protection.

Helen Di Tomaso Drama Teacher and Associates of The Company recognise that:

The welfare of the child is paramount and that the responsibility of keeping children safe in education is everyone’s responsibility.

All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or identity, have a right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.

Some children are additionally vulnerable because of the impact of previous experiences. Helen Di Tomaso and Associates of The Company seek to keep participants of classes safe by:

  • Valuing them, listening to and respecting them and protecting them from maltreatment.

  • Adopting child protection and safeguarding practices as set out in the Department for education Statutory guidance for Schools and Colleges - Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 (September 2023 edition)

Ensuring that when Helen Di Tomaso recruits Associates , the necessary checks are made.

  • Recording and storing information professionally and safely.

  • Keeping registers for all classes.

  • Ensuring all venues at which Helen Di Tomaso Drama Teacher’s classes are undertaken are safe and fit for purpose.

By creating classes at the right level for the participant and with adaptations to ensure full inclusivity for all students.

  • Promotes anti-bullying awareness through performance.

  • Ensuring CPD is undertaken

  • Ensuring that The Company’s insurance is up to date.
